Internet Business School – Terms of Use and Purchase
1. About us
This website and our courses are provided by Internet Business School LLP (registered in England and Wales, number OC321146; registered office 62 Wilson Street, London EC2A 2BU; VAT number 901218764) and Education By Experts Ltd (registered in England and Wales, number 12477088; registered office 62 Wilson Street, London EC2A 2BU; VAT number 362 4164 11).
In general, purchases made through our webinar and checkout pages are sold by Education By Experts Ltd. Purchases made directly on this website may be sold by Internet Business School LLP. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean whichever of those two businesses you are buying from, as shown on your checkout page and receipt.
Our trading address is Ross Enterprise Centre, Ross Way, Folkestone, Kent CT20 3UJ. You can contact us by email at [email protected] or by phone on 01233 226222. Email is usually the quickest way to reach us; post can take significantly longer to reach us.
Sometimes our replies are filtered as spam. Adding [email protected] to your safe senders list helps make sure you receive them.
2. These terms
These terms apply when you use our website and members area and when you buy a course, product or service from us. Please read them before you buy.
Who these terms are for. These terms apply where you buy as a consumer, meaning an individual acting for purposes that are wholly or mainly outside your trade, business, craft or profession. You must be 18 or over to create an account or buy from us.
Product-specific terms. A product’s sales page or checkout page may set out terms that apply only to that product, such as an extended guarantee, an access period or a payment plan. Those terms form part of your contract for that product. If they conflict with these terms, the product-specific terms apply to that product. Neither these terms nor any product-specific terms reduce your legal rights.
Your personal information. How we collect and use your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms. We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law or in how we operate. The version in force when you placed your order applies to that order. If we make a significant change that affects an ongoing subscription, we will tell you by email at least [30] days in advance, and you may cancel before the change takes effect.
Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
3. Using our website and members area
Your account is for your personal use only. Please:
- keep your login details private and do not share your account. You are welcome to use your account on more than one device. If we reasonably believe an account is being shared with other people, we may contact you and suspend access while we look into it;
- not copy, republish, resell or distribute our course content, videos, images or materials without our written permission. Being able to download something does not mean you own it, and unauthorised use can lead to legal action;
- not use our website or members area for anything unlawful.
All content on our website and in our courses belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You are free to use what you learn in your own business. Templates and similar materials we provide for that purpose may be used in your own business. You may not copy, adapt or repackage our course materials (such as videos, slides, workbooks or scripts) to create courses or training products of your own.
If you seriously or repeatedly break these rules, we may suspend or end your access. If we end your access to a paid product for reasons that are not your fault, we will refund you for any period you have paid for but not received.
4. Buying courses and services
Prices. Prices are shown on the relevant sales and checkout pages, in the currency stated there. If we discover an obvious pricing error before we accept your order, we will contact you, and you may cancel.
Cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel any order due to customer misconduct, non-payment, abusive behaviour, disrupting sessions, sharing course materials, or not meeting stated entry requirements. In addition, we reserve the right to cancel with full refund any order where we believe the product is not suitable for the client or where we decide to cease any programme
Delivery. Online courses are usually available immediately after purchase through our members area. You will need a suitable internet-connected device and connection to view video content. We work hard to keep the members area available but cannot guarantee it will never be interrupted, for example by issues with third-party platforms beyond our control.
How long you can access a course. If the sales page or checkout page for a product states an access period, that period applies. If no access period is stated, you will have access for at least 12 months from the date of purchase. We may continue your access after that, but continued access does not mean your access is lifetime or permanent. No purchase includes lifetime or permanent access unless that was expressly promised for that product.
For partner programs, we guarantee to make partnership products available for at least 5 years from the date of purchase.
Updating, moving and retiring courses. To keep our products working well, we may move courses to a different platform or members area, update them, replace material that has become out of date, or retire them.
- If we move a course, we will aim to keep your access and will tell you about any change to how you log in.
- We will not make changes that significantly reduce what you paid for during your access period, unless the law or a third-party platform requires it.
- Where practicable, we will give you reasonable notice by email before we retire a course you have bought, so you have time to finish it and to download any materials provided for download.
- If we withdraw a course before the end of your access period (the period stated for that product, or the 12-month minimum), we will offer you access to a substantially comparable product or an appropriate partial refund.
Nothing in this section affects your legal rights.
Our courses. Some of our courses were recorded some time ago, and we do not routinely update them. Online platforms change regularly, so details such as screenshots, prices, menus or features of third-party websites and software may have changed since a course was recorded. If we do update a course, the update will appear in your members area.
Your legal rights. Digital content and services we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described, and services must be provided with reasonable care and skill. If they are not, you are entitled to a remedy, which may include a repair, replacement or a refund. Nothing in this section affects those rights.
5. Your right to cancel
Online courses and digital content. The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 say that, from the moment of purchase, you have a 14-day right to change your mind and get a full refund in most cases. However, you will lose this right to cancel if you access the online course within the 14-day period. Any extended guarantee (section 6) and your legal rights (section 4) still apply.
Services, including subscriptions. You have 14 days from purchase to cancel a service. If you ask us to start the service within that period and then cancel, we may charge for the service provided up to the point you cancel.
How to cancel. Email us at [email protected] with your name and what you bought. We will refund you within 14 days of your cancellation, using the payment method you used to buy.
6. Extended guarantees
Some products come with an extended money-back guarantee (for example, 30 or 60 days). Where that is the case, the full terms of the guarantee will be shown clearly on the sales page and the checkout page for that product. If an extended guarantee applies only to some items in an order, or if a later offer has different refund terms, we will state this on that offer’s page before you buy.
Where a guarantee depends on you completing the training or taking certain steps, those conditions will be set out on the sales page. If you request a refund under the guarantee, we may ask for reasonable evidence that you have met them, assessed against the published conditions.
An extended guarantee is in addition to, and does not replace, your legal rights.
7. Payment plans
A payment plan is a commitment to the full price. Some products can be paid for in instalments (for example, three monthly payments). A payment plan is a way of paying the full price of a product over time. It is not a subscription, and you cannot end it simply by stopping your payments. By choosing a payment plan, you agree to pay every instalment for that product.
What you will pay. Before you buy, the checkout page will show the number of instalments, the amount and timing of each one, and the total you will pay. The total price of a payment plan may be different from the price for paying in one go.
Missed payments. Please make sure funds are available on each payment date. If an instalment is not paid when it is due, we will contact you, and we may suspend your access to the product while the instalment remains overdue. Access will be restored once the overdue payment is made.
Your right to cancel (section 5) and your legal rights apply to purchases paid by instalments in the same way as to purchases paid in full. If you cancel a purchase within those rights, the remaining instalments will be cancelled.
8. Unlimited Email Support subscription
Unless stated otherwise, our courses do not include ongoing support. Our Unlimited Email Support service is available separately as a monthly subscription at the price shown when you order, charged to the card used for purchase each month until you cancel.
Send support requests to [email protected]. We aim to reply within one business day. Messages received at the weekend or on a bank holiday will be answered on the next business day where possible. You will continue to be charged even if you do not use the service, so please cancel if you no longer need it.
Reasonable use. “Unlimited” means you can contact us as often as you reasonably need to with questions about our courses and your use of them. It does not cover abusive or excessive use, or done-for-you work such as consulting, implementation, writing content or building websites for you. If we think the service is being used unreasonably, we will contact you before limiting it.
You can cancel at any time by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then. We do not refund partial months, except where section 5 applies.
9. Results, earnings and advice
Our courses teach skills and methods. They are not a guarantee of income. How much, if anything, you earn depends on many factors, including the time, effort and money you put in, your skills and experience, your market and the wider economy.
Examples and student results. Where we share results achieved by us or by students, they show what those individuals achieved. They are not a prediction of your results, and unless we say otherwise, they should not be taken as typical. Past results are not a promise of future results.
Putting what you learn into practice may involve additional costs, such as software, advertising or other tools. We aim to explain significant additional costs before you buy.
Guidance from us or our coaches is based on our knowledge and experience, and it is your decision whether to follow it. It is not legal, tax or financial advice. Before making decisions with significant financial or legal consequences, you should take advice from a suitably qualified professional.
10. Partner promotions and affiliate disclosure
As well as our own courses, we sometimes promote products, services and webinars offered by other businesses (“partners”), including through our emails and live webinars.
We may earn from these promotions. When you buy a partner’s product through a link, webinar or offer we have promoted, we will usually receive an incentive, usually in the form of a reciprocal promotion, a commission or other payment from that partner. This may sometimes include payments on additional or follow-on purchases you make from the partner.
The partner is the seller. When you buy from a partner, your contract is with that partner, not with us. The partner’s own terms, including its refund terms, apply. The partner is responsible for its product, its delivery, its refunds and the claims made in its own sales materials. Some partners are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Their terms may be governed by the law of another country, prices may be charged in another currency, and your card provider may add foreign transaction fees. You may still have rights under UK consumer law, but enforcing them against a business based overseas can be more difficult.
Getting help. If you have a problem with a partner product you bought after one of our promotions, please contact the partner first. If you cannot resolve it, tell us at [email protected] and we will raise it with the partner.
We cannot guarantee a partner’s products or the results they describe.
11. Community spaces and content you send us
If you take part in any community space we run, such as live webinar chat or an online members’ community, please be courteous and lawful: no abuse, harassment, spam, unauthorised advertising, or posting of other people’s copyright material. We may remove content or restrict access for anyone who does not follow these rules.
If you send us feedback, comments or results, you allow us to use them to improve our services. We will ask your permission before using your name, image or results in our marketing.
12. Our responsibility to you
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as an outage at a third-party platform we rely on. If that happens, we will tell you and take reasonable steps to limit the effect. If a paid course or service is unavailable for a prolonged period and we cannot restore it within a reasonable time, we will offer you an appropriate remedy depending on the circumstances, such as extending your access period or a partial refund. This does not affect your legal rights.
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for breach of your legal rights in relation to digital content and services.
13. Third-party websites and software
Our website and courses may link to, or teach the use of, third-party websites, platforms and software. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or changes they make. Where we link to a partner from whom we may earn a commission, section 10 applies.
14. Complaints
If you are unhappy with anything we have provided, please tell us at [email protected] and we will look into it. Our Complaints Policy is available here.
15. General
- Severability. If a court finds any part of these terms invalid, the rest will continue to apply.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a right immediately, we can still enforce it later.
- Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations to another business; we will tell you if this happens, and it will not reduce your rights.
- Third parties. This contract is between you and us. No one else has any rights to enforce it.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
