Five Reasons Why You Should Create an Ebay Business

Teaching people to make money online has always been the number one priority here at the Internet Business School. We’re always looking for quick and easy ways for you to make money using the latest internet marketing trends. We don’t think it really gets easier than opening up your own eBay store, but sometimes knowing where to start is the greatest hurdle for new businesses. That’s why we’ve created an online eBay Marketing course, but first, why should you be using eBay in the first place?

1) Your Own Personal Store
When you create a store on Ebay you get your own unique URL just for displaying your products, allowing customers to find you directly. Also, with only a little knowledge of HTML you can create a store that looks and feels completely unique, personalised for your business and its needs.

2) Cheap to List

It costs a maximum of 20p to list an item in an eBay Shop, and only 1p in their premium Anchor stores. This means you can list hundreds of products for sale with only a tiny charge compared to other online retailers.

3) Easy to Maintain

You don’t need to keep relisting your items as you can set them to automatically relist for as many days as you want them to. Your products will be available for sale constantly until they are removed by you. You can also set up your own promotions and sales with ease, your promoted items automatically appearing in the promotion section of your store design.

4) Product Reviews

Buyers can leave reviews on the sales pages of each of your products. This enables potential new buyers to see the recommendations of others, which could persuade them in turn to buy. Sellers on eBay can also be rated, letting your customers know you are a trustworthy source of whatever they’re looking for.

5) Extra Tools

You can use your store to create additional material for promoting your eBay store. Ebay provides the tools to create email marketing campaigns for your buyers, an ecommerce site linked to your eBay account, and templates for business cards and flyers.

Want to find out more about how you can make money on eBay? Well you can learn everything you need to know from the comfort of your own home with our online eBay marketing course. Why Go Mobile? What Mobile Marketing Can Do For Your Business.

Here at the Internet Business School, we’re passionate about making sure businesses are making the most of the latest internet marketing trends. We’ve noticed that despite the fact we’re all constantly checking our phones, some people haven’t realised that we should be putting our businesses on there too! Having great mobile marketing is essential for great business growth and that could start with a great mobile marketing course. Here are our top four reasons why you should go mobile.

– Anytime, anywhere

Browsing and shopping on mobile phones is the perfect way to fit buyers’ needs around a busy lifestyle. The ability to shop wherever there’s internet means that people are shopping anywhere at any time. If your business doesn’t have a mobile presence it is missing out on all these customers who are buying on the go. Reach your customers wherever they are and whatever they’re doing by having a mobile site, or even an app, that they can use whilst moving about.

– Quick and simple access

When we check our phones it’s often a quick glance, or a quick search to find out what we’re after. Often people use search engines on their phone to look up something up fast. Whilst your site can still be found by these search engines, a website not adapted to work on mobile will be a lot slower to load than one that is. This does not suit to the fast click-happy mobile user, who wants the information they need immediately. They’ll leave your site immediately and look for a faster one if you haven’t adapted it for mobile.

– Maximise Engagement

Just like any form of marketing, an engaged customer is a customer who will buy more. Mobile devices open up a new way for customers to engage with your business, especially with the use of apps. Many businesses create apps that coincide with their business – for example money tracking apps, small games or meal planners. These apps are often free, giving the customer something as a reward for their loyalty. These apps can also be used on the go, and often are built to be integrated into the customers’ lifestyle, making sure the business involved is always present in their customers’ lives.

– Sharing Potential

Word of mouth is a powerful marketing tool and people are constantly sharing their views on social media. Social Media dominates people’s smartphone usage and linking your content to social media will only make it easier for people to refer others to your business. This is possible on mobile, once again, anytime and anywhere. Let people advertise for you by giving them access to a fast mobile site they can share.

Are you ready to go mobile? Want to find out how you can adapt your current site for mobile use, or even create yourself an app? It’s easy! All of this and more can be found as part of the online Mobile Marketing course, created here at the Internet Business School. There’s everything you need to create professional mobile marketing for your business. Have any questions about the course? Ask us at https://internetbusinessschool.co.uk/contact-us/ We’d be happy to hear from you!

Top Five Tips for Search Engine Optimisation

Making sure small businesses get the edge over their competitors has always been one of the Internet Business School’s greatest aims. That’s why we’ve produced many professional internet marketing courses over the years, and stayed up to date with all the latest internet marketing trends. Throughout our years of experience, we’ve noticed that some businesses simply aren’t making the most of SEO – also known as search engine optimisation. This is what determines how far up search rankings a website will be displayed. When seventy percent of customers click on the top three sites listed, it’s never been more important to please Google and boost your site skywards. Here are five things you should consider when optimising your site for Google.

– Research is key

Before you start filling up your site, make sure to research not only the keywords you should be using, but also the keywords your competitors are using. There are many tools out there to do this, from Google Adwords to premium sites that can rank you in comparison to your competitors. Make sure to find out how many people actually do search the keywords you’re aiming for. Sometimes a simple Google search is enough to see how you compare with your rivals.

– Create rather than alter

Google awards businesses who are actively creating new content for their sites with higher rankings. Whilst it is advisable to optimise the pre-existing content on your blog, make sure you add new optimised content to your site as well. This could be in the form of blog posts, articles, testimonials, how-to guides, the limit is your imagination.

– Quality over Quantity

When it comes to this new content, don’t be tempted to just spam your website with the relevant keywords. Creating a page just filled with keywords for no other purpose than boosting your search engine rankings is deemed bad practice and can even get your site taken down from Google. Even if you only post new content once or twice a week, make sure it is meaningful as well as optimised. That’s why it’s better to write blogs, articles or guides for your customers as it boosts your ranking and provides a service.

– Make use of your titles and images.

Remember to include your keywords in the titles and headers of your content. This signifies not only to the reader but to Google, the importance of that keyword to the page. When you upload images, remember to add your keywords to not only the title of the image, but also the alt. Text as Google also reads these. Adding keywords to your images also helps if a customer is searching on Google Images as an image with keywords is more likely to show up there.

– Reputable links

Having your site linked to from reputable sources give it prestige and boosts it up the rankings. Creating links couldn’t be easier. If your products have been reviewed by another site, be they a news site, a blogger, or industry page, ask them to include a link to your page. Social media also counts so make sure to link your website to your social media pages and visa versa.

Want to find out more about how you can boost your site up Google’s rankings?  Fancy increasing the free traffic to your site? Well look no further than the Search Engine Optimisation course from the Internet Business School taught by Europe’s number one Digital Marketing Author and SEO Expert, Tim Cameron-Kitchen. The Importance of Listening to Others

“I did the 3-day marketing course in 2010 after seeing Simon speaking in a seminar. He blew my mind. If he could teach me so much in an hour, what could he teach me in three days?”

Going it alone doesn’t mean isolating yourself from the world of business, as Alex Buxton learned as soon as they stepped into the Internet Business School classroom. The best way to learn is from the experts who have already accomplished what you’re trying to do.  Even if they aren’t in your exact industry, their internet marketing techniques and the skills they use, are more often than not applicable to your own marketing needs.  Yet it isn’t only the experts you should be listening to when it comes to business ideas.

In his Amazon bestseller, Interpreneur, The Secrets of My Journey To Becoming An Interpreneur, Simon Coulson says:

“LISTEN to what your friends and family are talking about – if they are interested in a topic or there is a buzz around a certain subject, maybe that is a market worth exploring”

Great ideas can come from the most likely and unlikely of places! Listen to your friends and family, often they will have ideas that you can combine with your business know-how to transform into profit. If they have a business idea, make sure to ask whether it’s ok for you to use it or whether they want to collaborate. Otherwise, if it is something you just hear in passing conversation, you can use it for yourself.

The Dos and Don’ts of Facebook Marketing

Here at the Internet Business School, we’re devoted to bringing the latest internet marketing trends to businesses everywhere. We’ve made sure to stay up to date on all the tips and tricks businesses can use to beat their competitors, especially on the world’s most popular social media platform – Facebook. When creating our great Facebook marketing courses, we couldn’t help but notice there are still people who haven’t quite grasped how to make the most of Facebook and its huge audience. That’s why we’ve produced our dos and don’ts of Facebook marketing.

Do

Fill in all of the About section – The About section provides two purposes that are both essential for businesses. Not only does the About section provide all the information customers need to know about your business, it is also essential for your Facebook page’s search engine rankings. Remember to include relevant keywords in your About section so your Facebook page appears higher on Google’s search rankings.

Post regularly – Though the best times and days may differ depending on your intended audience, it’s important to be consistent with when and how often you post. This not only projects the image of an organised brand but also allows customers to know when to expect to hear new information from you.

Make the Most of Facebook Analytics –  Facebook Analytics allows you to everything from when your target audience is online to which of your posts has had the best reception. This enables you to tailor your content towards what suits your potential customers best. Make sure you’re posting what they like at the times that suit them best to maximum attention for your business.

React to Events and Occasions – Show that your business is attentive to the world around you by tailoring your posts to react to current news and events. Be careful not be insensitive to the troubles of others but if a new trend or fad has made the news, comment on it, or perhaps include some political satire. Also make sure to produce seasonal posts at the right time of year.

Don’t

Forget about your Header Image – Header images are perfect, not only for displaying your branding, but also for keeping your customers up to date on your latest products, events or offers. Produce new header images to draw your customers attention towards what you wish to promote

Leave Your Customers Waiting – Your Facebook page should be full of calls to action (‘call now’, ‘subscribe now’, ‘call us’) but if someone does contact you over social media with a question, make sure to answer it quickly. Communicating over Facebook is fast and customers expect a fast response, receiving an answer during the same day at the very least. Not replying to a customer usually means losing that customer so it pays to be attentive to who’s talking to you.

Over-post – Just like on any social media platform, no one likes being spammed with unnecessary content. Keep you posting concise, on topic, and post only at the best moments (which you can find out through Analytics). Quality is better than quantity when it comes to using social media to promote a business.

Stay apart from the Rest –  Interaction is the most important form of engagement on social media. You can interact with customers and other business through a whole range of different methods. Tagging someone who reviewed your product, or another business you’ve worked with, is a great way to make them feel included. Hosting competitions, posting Facebook-exclusive offers and following back people who follow your business are also great ways to engage with potential customers.

Want to find out how you can use Facebook to reach hundreds, if not thousands of potential customers? Still wondering how you can make the most of this amazing platform? Look no further than the Internet Business School’s online Facebook Marketing courses. We’ll take you from the very basics of using the platform to the tips and tricks used by big businesses to get customers spending, all from the comfort of your own home. Want to write an Ebook? Find Inspiration in These Key Places!

Here at the Internet Business School we understand how important it is for entrepreneurs to always be keeping an eye out for new business opportunities. Ebooks are a perfect way to make money online from the comfort of your own home. Starting out on a book may seem daunting, that’s why here at the Internet Business School we’ve produced our own book publishing course. However before you go on any book publishing course, it’s a great idea to look around for inspiration. It’s easier than you might think. Here are four places we’ve found to be great sources of inspiration!

– Friends and Family

Your friends and family will likely have a wealth of ideas about what you can write about. Perhaps they’ve noticed a new craze or trend that you haven’t, giving you a perfect market for your book. Maybe you have a hobby or interest you don’t think special but it takes those closest to you to point it out. Their hobbies and interests are also a treasure trove of material. Don’t be afraid to collaborate with them, using their knowledge and expertise alongside your writing and business skills. Make sure to give them a cut though if you do!

– Social Media

For the most up to date trends, conversations and crazes, you can’t beat social media for instantaneous information. Take a look at what is trending, what people are talking about most, many social media platforms track these for you.  Also consider what the people you follow are talking about. Are they excited about a particular topic? Are they having problems in a certain area? Your ebook could fill the gap they need in content, be it to further their interest for find a solution.

– Newspapers

Newspapers are another great way to find out what has got people talking. If it’s significant enough to be put out in print, there is certainly an opportunity there. Another upside to newspapers is that you can use them to target a specific audience. Want to only target your local area? Use a local newspaper. Want to reach people nationwide. Use a national paper. Want to only target the financial sector, use the financial papers. It couldn’t be simpler!

– Daily Troubles

Is there something you’ve been having trouble with recently? Or something those closest to you have been having trouble with. It’s worth doing some research to see if this is a problem many people have been having. If it is, write a book with the solution in it. This could be anything from how to make the most of the daily commute to the best ways to eat healthily. If there’s a problem, there’s a solution and you could be the one selling that.

Want to learn more about getting published? The Internet Business School offers a live book publishing course where you can learn all you need to know in a single day. Finding Your First Source of Inspiration

thought bubble with a lightbulb in it

“Every business needs inspiration to get started, and through attending the Internet Business School courses you will certainly have many things to think about. The hands-on experience was exciting and rewarding.”

When he attended a course at the Internet Business School, Bob Cuthbertson found no shortage of inspiration. This was vital to his business success as the lack of inspiration is often what ruins an interpreneur’s chances at success before they even begin. There are thousands of resources, both online and offline, so many that they can overwhelm a potential interpreneur, leaving them with no idea where to start.

The Interpreneur Companion Guide, an essential resource for new interpreneurs, says this:

“We live in a world jam-packed full of opportunities. Dozens of newspapers and thousands of web articles get published every day and in each of them a treasure trove of chances to find something new for you to try.”

Start simple. Don’t underestimate the power of local news as a source of inspiration. If it’s important enough to be reported on, then there’s enough interest to build a business around it. See something that interests you. Jump on it! As Simon Coulson says:

“When you have a wake-up call – whether it’s a health scare or some other defining moment in your life -DO NOT IGNORE IT.”

Need a new source of inspiration? Why not pick up a copy of Interpreneur, The Secrets of My Journey To Becoming An Interpreneur  and the Interpreneur Companion Guide for only £1? Between these two books you’ll find everything you’ll need to know to start up your own business and fast track your way to success. Click here to order your copy today!

Here’s A Quick Way to Get Sales Leads from Linkedin and Twitter

Harnessing your Internet Marketing strategies can be great for lead generation and so I would like to share with you a couple of quick ways to get sales leads from two popular social media platforms.  I hope you find them useful.

LinkedIn

First Step: Create a Targeted List

You can easily find targeted lists of people, by using the advanced search feature.

By clicking on the advanced tab you have the option of filtering your search to include a number of factors. Including: –

Keywords

Location

Industry

Name

If you upgrade for a paid LinkedIn premium membership, then additionally you have access to, filtering options such as: –

Company Size

Seniority Level

Membership of Certain Groups

This feature is great because you can then, build a list of targeted prospects, quickly and easily.

Second step: –

Start Talking to Your Prospects

Once you know who you want to speak to, you can start a conversation with them. If you are not connected with the prospect you want to talk to already, you cannot send a message to them, this is a feature of a premium account but if you are connected you can send them a message and introduce yourself.

It’s probably not a great idea to immediately try and sell something to them, as I always say, know, like and trust is really important in building relationships.

So there you have a quick way to find prospects on LinkedIn, now let’s look at Twitter.

Twitter

Twitter is a social networking platform, where people have conversations.  It is a great place to chat and engage opinions on ideas you might have. While it is not a great site to sell directly from, it is nevertheless a good place to find prospects.

Here’s the best way to use the platform to find sales leads : –

Use a tool such as hashtagify.me, to find out what the most popular hashtags are, as well as related hashtags around it.

Next step is to go to Twitter and enter the hashtag in the search bar. This will show you all the users who are interested in this topic.  You can then start interacting with them and asking questions, about their hashtag, or brand. Basically, engaging with them.

Typing in different hashtags may reveal people who are looking for what you can provide. What is the solution to the problem they are talking about on Twitter? Again, you can then start a conversation with them and at the appropriate time offer up a solution.

Don’t jump straight in

You wouldn’t ask a date to marry you the first time you went out would you?!  Monitor the hashtags and monitor the conversations, and interact appropriately.  Remember, know, like and trust.

Once you are in a conversation make sure you are upfront and offer them a solution to their problems.  While you are conducting this conversation online, remember this is a human to human interaction and so treat your prospect like you would like to be treated yourself. No hard sell!

Hope you have enjoyed these 2 tips about finding leads from LinkedIn and Twitter.

Have a great week

Simon
