Want to write an Ebook? Find Inspiration in These Key Places!

Here at the Internet Business School we understand how important it is for entrepreneurs to always be keeping an eye out for new business opportunities. Ebooks are a perfect way to make money online from the comfort of your own home. Starting out on a book may seem daunting, that’s why here at the Internet Business School we’ve produced our own book publishing course. However before you go on any book publishing course, it’s a great idea to look around for inspiration. It’s easier than you might think. Here are four places we’ve found to be great sources of inspiration!

– Friends and Family

Your friends and family will likely have a wealth of ideas about what you can write about. Perhaps they’ve noticed a new craze or trend that you haven’t, giving you a perfect market for your book. Maybe you have a hobby or interest you don’t think special but it takes those closest to you to point it out. Their hobbies and interests are also a treasure trove of material. Don’t be afraid to collaborate with them, using their knowledge and expertise alongside your writing and business skills. Make sure to give them a cut though if you do!

– Social Media

For the most up to date trends, conversations and crazes, you can’t beat social media for instantaneous information. Take a look at what is trending, what people are talking about most, many social media platforms track these for you.  Also consider what the people you follow are talking about. Are they excited about a particular topic? Are they having problems in a certain area? Your ebook could fill the gap they need in content, be it to further their interest for find a solution.

– Newspapers

Newspapers are another great way to find out what has got people talking. If it’s significant enough to be put out in print, there is certainly an opportunity there. Another upside to newspapers is that you can use them to target a specific audience. Want to only target your local area? Use a local newspaper. Want to reach people nationwide. Use a national paper. Want to only target the financial sector, use the financial papers. It couldn’t be simpler!

– Daily Troubles

Is there something you’ve been having trouble with recently? Or something those closest to you have been having trouble with. It’s worth doing some research to see if this is a problem many people have been having. If it is, write a book with the solution in it. This could be anything from how to make the most of the daily commute to the best ways to eat healthily. If there’s a problem, there’s a solution and you could be the one selling that.

Finding Your First Source of Inspiration

thought bubble with a lightbulb in it

“Every business needs inspiration to get started, and through attending the Internet Business School courses you will certainly have many things to think about. The hands-on experience was exciting and rewarding.”

When he attended a course at the Internet Business School, Bob Cuthbertson found no shortage of inspiration. This was vital to his business success as the lack of inspiration is often what ruins an interpreneur’s chances at success before they even begin. There are thousands of resources, both online and offline, so many that they can overwhelm a potential interpreneur, leaving them with no idea where to start.

The Interpreneur Companion Guide, an essential resource for new interpreneurs, says this:

“We live in a world jam-packed full of opportunities. Dozens of newspapers and thousands of web articles get published every day and in each of them a treasure trove of chances to find something new for you to try.”

Start simple. Don’t underestimate the power of local news as a source of inspiration. If it’s important enough to be reported on, then there’s enough interest to build a business around it. See something that interests you. Jump on it! As Simon Coulson says:

“When you have a wake-up call – whether it’s a health scare or some other defining moment in your life -DO NOT IGNORE IT.”

Need a new source of inspiration? Why not pick up a copy of Interpreneur, The Secrets of My Journey To Becoming An Interpreneur  and the Interpreneur Companion Guide for only £1? Here’s A Quick Way to Get Sales Leads from Linkedin and Twitter

Harnessing your Internet Marketing strategies can be great for lead generation and so I would like to share with you a couple of quick ways to get sales leads from two popular social media platforms.  I hope you find them useful.

LinkedIn

First Step: Create a Targeted List

You can easily find targeted lists of people, by using the advanced search feature.

By clicking on the advanced tab you have the option of filtering your search to include a number of factors. Including: –

Keywords

Location

Industry

Name

If you upgrade for a paid LinkedIn premium membership, then additionally you have access to, filtering options such as: –

Company Size

Seniority Level

Membership of Certain Groups

This feature is great because you can then, build a list of targeted prospects, quickly and easily.

Second step: –

Start Talking to Your Prospects

Once you know who you want to speak to, you can start a conversation with them. If you are not connected with the prospect you want to talk to already, you cannot send a message to them, this is a feature of a premium account but if you are connected you can send them a message and introduce yourself.

It’s probably not a great idea to immediately try and sell something to them, as I always say, know, like and trust is really important in building relationships.

So there you have a quick way to find prospects on LinkedIn, now let’s look at Twitter.

Twitter

Twitter is a social networking platform, where people have conversations.  It is a great place to chat and engage opinions on ideas you might have. While it is not a great site to sell directly from, it is nevertheless a good place to find prospects.

Here’s the best way to use the platform to find sales leads : –

Use a tool such as hashtagify.me, to find out what the most popular hashtags are, as well as related hashtags around it.

Next step is to go to Twitter and enter the hashtag in the search bar. This will show you all the users who are interested in this topic.  You can then start interacting with them and asking questions, about their hashtag, or brand. Basically, engaging with them.

Typing in different hashtags may reveal people who are looking for what you can provide. What is the solution to the problem they are talking about on Twitter? Again, you can then start a conversation with them and at the appropriate time offer up a solution.

Don’t jump straight in

You wouldn’t ask a date to marry you the first time you went out would you?!  Monitor the hashtags and monitor the conversations, and interact appropriately.  Remember, know, like and trust.

Once you are in a conversation make sure you are upfront and offer them a solution to their problems.  While you are conducting this conversation online, remember this is a human to human interaction and so treat your prospect like you would like to be treated yourself. No hard sell!

Hope you have enjoyed these 2 tips about finding leads from LinkedIn and Twitter.

Have a great week

How To Take the Headache Out of Content Creation

You will probably have heard from many sources about the importance of content creation. Familiar sayings such as “Content is King” or buzz words like “content strategies” or “content marketing” and for good reason.  Content creation needs to be at  the top of your to do list.

Why?  Content is important for a number of reasons.  Producing online content, helps your brand, it builds relationships and importantly it strengthens your ranking on Google when the content is focussed on keywords, so called search engine optimisation.

It is also really important because there is so much ‘noise’ on the internet and in our lives generally.  We are being marketed to at every opportunity and our inboxes are overflowing with emails that we never open.

Flip yourself onto the side of the marketer, the one who is trying to catch the attention means that you need to be creating lots of great quality content to get noticed and the downside is this is going to take time. There are a number of ways you can approach this problem but today I am sharing with you a video from our resident video marketer Ben Brophy, who is going to explain how you can easily repurpose one piece of video content to make three different types, quickly and easily.

The other plus of this method is the fact that different people have different preferences as to  how they like to consume content, so by creating different types you are increasing your chances of the content being consumed by your audience.

Hope you enjoy the video.

Testimonials – Your Way To Increasing Your Business Credibility

Know, Like and Trust.  Essential in building great business relationships and on the 3 day Accredited Internet Marketing Diploma, I teach you this process and how if implemented correctly it can make even more money online for you.

Part of this process involves maximising the assets your business already has or maybe even putting in place simple processes which will demonstrate to future clients your credibility. The easiest way to do this is to ask your existing customers for testimonials.  In fact, if you have ever been on one of my courses you will know that we implement this on a regular basis.

I do this in two ways, the first way is by the traditional handwritten feedback form and the second way is by filming testimonials from clients who have attended my courses.  Not only does the feedback give me ideas as to how I can deliver future courses it also gives me handwritten evidence that I can present to potential customers, who are making a decision as to whether to attend one of my future events.

Video, as I said in a previous post, has a tremendous reach and is increasingly important online and so I hope you enjoy this short video from our video marketing expert, Ben Brophy on How you can increase your business with video testimonials.

Simon

The Secret Revealed… The Proven Way to Encourage Email Clicks [Part 3]

When I tell you what this is, you will probably say is that it!

It is as simple as this.  Mention the topic of your email in the subject heading.  Yes this has been tested and the results show that by pre- qualifying what the content of your email is about then this can  increase click through rates.

I hope you have enjoyed this three part series of the 7 tips to increase email open rates.  Remember to try out different subject headings and then test them to see how they convert. You can then adapt them accordingly.

Always provide value to your audience, connect with them and help them solve their pain. You will then have a happy email list and a more profitable business.

7 Tips to Increase Your Email Open Rates [Part 2]

As promised here is the second part of my series on top email headings.

Tip 5 of this series is arguably the most important

# Tip 5 –  Self Interest

For example : – How to write a promotional email that converts

This is working right now …

7 quick Facebook hacks

This is the best type of email heading and you should be using it the most frequently. You need to keep them direct and highlight a specific benefit your audience will get by opening your email.

#Tip 6 – Connection

For example : Thank you …  or  Have a great Christmas! [ Seasons Greetings]

Don’t forget that you are emailing real people and you need to connect with them. It’s not all about the sale.  Remind people who you are and why they are on your list.

#Tip 7 –  News and Stories

For example –   SEO is changing, find out why…

Is Instagram the new Twitter?

You need to be an authority in your niche and by sharing news and updates this helps maintain and build your authority. You can combine these elements with a curiosity element to increase the chances of the email being opened. Also never forget the power in a story. Telling a story can connect you with your audience and with increased connection, it is more likely that future emails will be opened and your audience will identify with your brand.

In summary

The tips above are great ideas to encourage your subscribers to click on your emails but you need to deliver the content you promise in the subject line because if not you will disillusion your audience.

However, I have one more great tip which has been measured to increase open rates … look out for the next update.

Until next time,

Best wishes

Simon
